Matthias Mellinghaus is a Producer located in Vancouver, BC. Mellinghaus started his career in the film industry over 30 years ago after finishing his rowing career with an Olympic Gold medal. In 1993, Mellinghaus completed the film directing class at the Konrad Wolf Film University in Potsdam, Germany. While based in Berlin, he directed feature-length documentaries for German Television and started working as a Producer and 1st AD on German Independent features. Mellinghaus emigrated to Canada in 2001.
After initially starting as a Production Manager he shifted his focus to first ADing and gradually more to producing work. Between 2014 and 2019 was part of the team creating BRON Studio's Live Action Brand first as Head of Production, then as VP Production. His tasks for BRON included producing, and supervising the Production of all BRON Features shot worldwide. Since 2020 Mellinghaus has been focusing on freelance producing.
