- Karen Meagher was born in 1955 in Birkenhead, Liverpool, England. She is an actress, known for Threads (1984), 28 Weeks Later (2007) and Experience Preferred... But Not Essential (1982).
- About auditioning for the role of Ruth Beckett in Threads, "I was desperate to be a part of it, I was a member of CND and had been on marches. It was something I really wanted to do...I felt that I wanted to tell people how tenuous our link to life is".
