Biography

John J. McMahon was born on October 12, 1930. He was a producer and executive, known for Nightmares & Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King (2006), The Secret Under the Rose (2006) and Johnny Carson Presents the Tonight Show Comedians (1984). He was married to Barbara Jean Dolio. He died on October 20, 2019.

In 1969, McMahon created the LAPD Memorial Foundation "dedicated to caring for the families of police officers who have been severely injured or killed in the line of duty.". He served as president and board chairman for 49 years.

During the Korean War, McMahon was a Master Sergeant, who was wounded from enemy shelling in combat.

Corporate Business Experience: (1) KABC-TV in Chicago, Illinois, and Los Angeles, California as Vice President and General Manager. (2) NBC Television as Senior V.P. of Programming and Talent. (3) Johnny Carson Productions Group as Founding President. (4) Wilshire Court Productions as prolific television movie producer.
