She has appeared in three separate series created by Donald P. Bellisario: JAG (1995), NCIS (2003), and NCIS: New Orleans (2014).

In JAG (1995), her character, P.O. Jennifer Coates, appeared for the first time on December 11th in 2001 and was recurring during seasons 7, 8 and 9. For the 10th and also last season, she was promoted to the main cast. Her last appearance was in April 2005, when the show ended.

When Zoe was cast in "NCIS: New Orleans," she stated in interviews that moving there was like going home because her family goes back generations in the city. In fact, Zoe stated that her son Sebastian is seventh-generation in the New Orleans branch of her family.

Although Zoe played a twin on "NCIS: New Orleans," she is not a twin in real life. On-screen, Meredith Brody had a twin sister; however, Zoe's only full-blooded sibling is a non-twin brother.
