Yvette McKoy is a multilingual actor, stunt performer, writer, and producer whose remarkable life journey bridges continents, cultures, and careers. Born and raised in East Germany alongside her identical twin sister Yvonne, Yvette grew up under the guidance of her German mother while her father, originally from Mali, was forced to leave the country due to political restrictions. As an elite track and field athlete, Yvette rose to international prominence as one of the top ten runners in the world, achieving times of 1:59.43 in the 800m and 4:05.12 in the 1500m. Despite her world-class talent, political barriers and Stasi surveillance prevented her from competing beyond the Eastern Block after authorities intercepted letters from her future husband, Canadian Olympic Gold Medalist Mark McKoy. Though she never intended to defect-her mother was a city mayor and her twin also a world-class athlete-Yvette was restricted from international competition until the fall of the Berlin Wall, when she was finally able to reunite with Mark McKoy in Canada. Her extraordinary love story and resilience became the focus of the Gemini-nominated documentary *Cold War Love: The Mark and Yvette McKoy Story*, which aired on The History Channel. After living with Mark in the UK, Monaco, Austria, and the United States, Yvette finally settled in Canada in 1996, where she reignited her modelling and acting career that had begun in Germany. Her on-screen work includes numerous performances alongside Peter Gallagher in *Anne Rice's Feast of All Saints*; Terrence Howard and Erika Alexander in *Street Time*; Nicole Ari Parker and Boris Kodjoe in *Soul Food*; Ethan Peck in *Star Trek: Strange New Worlds*; Peter Weller in *Rabbit Hole*; Meaghan Rath in *Children Ruin Everything*; and Torrey DeVitto in *Twas the Night Before Christmas*.
