Biography

John McKee was born on December 30, 1916 in San Luis Obispo, California, USA. He was an actor, known for Cape Fear (1962), 1941 (1979) and Tough Enough (1983). He died on May 12, 2013 in Vineland, New Jersey, USA.

Served as a pilot in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He became a recipient of the Purple Heart, when his plane was shot down over France.

Was heavily involved in sports prior to his movie career, as a professional player in the Canadian Football League and as bullpen coach for the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball team.
