Monica Mcgowan Johnson was born on February 21, 1946 in Colorado, USA. She was a writer and producer, known for Lost in America (1985), Mother (1996) and The Muse (1999). She was married to Charles Michael Lohr, Andrew Langston Johnson and Peter Philip McGowan. She died on November 1, 2010 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Writing partner of Albert Brooks in many of his films.

She was a single mother working in a social-services office in Los Angeles, when her brother Jerry got her a job typing scripts for The Odd Couple (1970). Sometimes she would make changes in the lines, and her brother realized she had writing talent. He got her a job writing a spec script for The Mary Tyler Moore Show (1970).

Her widower, Charles Lohr, was Johnson's seventh husband.
