Biography

Jo was born in Chicago and grew up in Colorado. After graduating from Sonoma State University with a degree in Communications, she started her acting career in San Francisco. She is a speaking coach with 333-communications.com, and an improv innovator at westcoastschoolofimprov. Her book, Going Long: The Art of Longform Improvisation for Stage & Screen was published by Applause Books. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Stephen Kearin.

Is a member of critically acclaimed Impro Theatre, with whom she performs in improvised plays including the highly acclaimed Jane Austen Unscripted, Tennessee Williams Unscripted, Chekhov Unscripted, and Twilight Zone Unscripted.

Jo was a magician's assistant with Magician, Tim Noonan.

Jo is a board member of the non-profit Random Acts.

Her book, Going Long: The Art of Longform Improvisation for Stage and Screen, will be released by Applause Books, November 2024.
