At Connecticut College, Deirdre McGill studied with playwright Rommulas Linney, father of Laura Linney, who was very supportive of her work.
She also worked with Dale Wasserman who chose her to workshop the lead in his musical " Shakespheare and the Indians" at the Eugene o Neill Theatre center in Waterford Conn. She appeared there with actor Eric Douglas.
