Biography

Michael McElroy was born in Shaker Heights, Ohio, USA. He is known for Romance & Cigarettes (2005), Great Performances (1971) and Stonewall (1995).

Was nominated for Broadway's 2004 Tony Award as Best Actor (Featured Role - Musical) for portraying Jim in a revival of "Big River."

He has a degree in theater from Carnegie Mellon University.

In 2021 he was appointed chairman of the University of Michigan's School of Music, Theatre and Dance.
