Biography

Colleen McCullough was born on June 1, 1937 in Wellington, New South Wales, Australia. She was a writer and actress, known for Megalopolis (2024), Tim (1979) and An Indecent Obsession (1985). She was married to Cedric Newton (Ric) Ion-Robinson. She died on January 29, 2015 in Burnt Pine, Norfolk Island, Australia.

Cousin (by marriage) of Helen Reddy and Toni Lamond.

Before becoming a writer, she studied medicine. She spent 10 years as a researcher at Yale medical school.

Since January 1980, she has lived on Norfolk Island, off the east coast of Australia.

She was awarded the A.O. (Officer of the Order of Australia) in the 2006 Queen's Birthday Honours List for her services to the arts as an author and to the community through roles supporting national and international educational programs, medico-scientific disciplines and charitable organizations and causes.
