Biography

Carson McCullers was born on February 19, 1917 in Columbus, Georgia, USA. She was a writer, known for Reflections in a Golden Eye (1967), The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter (1968) and Bob Hope Presents the Chrysler Theatre (1963). She was married to James Reeves McCullers Jr.. She died on September 29, 1967 in Nyack, New York, USA.

She was plagued by ill-health for most of her life. Her husband was a psychotic who eventually killed himself.

American novelist, story writer and dramatist whose work is usually set in the Deep South. Her style has been described as "southern gothic'.
