Lael McCall
Lael began her career in London editing a monthly magazine for producers and later became Creative Affairs Executive at United British Artists Developments, founded by Harold Pinter, Glenda Jackson, Albert Finney, Maggie Smith, and John Hurt to develop projects for West End Theatre as well as television and films (The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne, Castaway, Turtle Diary). Returning to Canada, Lael joined Alliance Communications in Toronto. During seven years at Alliance, Lael executive produced The Boys Club, On My Own, an Italy/Canada/Australia co-production, and Turning April, a Canada/Australia co-production, while overseeing the development of in-house productions and independent acquisitions (Crash, Exotica) as Vice President, Alliance Pictures.

Since forming Principia Productions, Lael's projects have included Marie Clements' Indigenous first feature Red Snow for CBC Films with MCMedia and Lily Pictures; A Simple Curve (dir. Aubrey Nealon) with George Baptist's Chinook Arch Productions; Noah's Arc: Jumping the Broom (dir. Patrick-Ian Polk) with Blueprint Productions for Logo Films; Season II of Exes & Ohs (MTV/Logo, Showcase and Super Channel); the performing arts film The Overcoat, directed by Morris Panych; the drama-documentary The Orkney Lad (WTN) directed by Anne Wheeler; Hair, There and Everywhere (CBC Newsworld) directed by Penny Wheelwright; and the six-part educational series, Marion Woodman and the Conscious Feminine based on interviews with the beloved Canadian Jungian analyst and writer.

Lael was raised in the Yukon. She holds an M.Ed in Adult Learning and Global Change from the University of British Columbia.
