  • Norm McCabe was born on February 10, 1911 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, UK. He was a director and costume designer, known for The Transformers: The Movie (1986), Transformers (1984) and InHumanoids (1986). He died on January 17, 2006 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

  • From 1943, McCabe helped to make training films for the First Motion Picture Unit of the Army Air Corps, under the command of Major Rudolf Ising.
  • A legend in animation - one of the original 40 who began his career in 1937 with the last work in 1995.
  • Received a prestigious Winsor McCay Award in 2000.
  • In the 1950's, he directed TV commercials, returning to animation in the 60's, working at Warner Brothers and for DePatie/Freleng on Pink Panther cartoons.
  • Prolific English-born animator and animation director, best remembered for his work on early black & white Looney Tunes cartoons (especially Porky Pig) under the auspices of Frank Tashlin and, later, Bob Clampett. Since he never made any color cartoons for Warner Brothers, his work has been overshadowed by many of his fellow animators at the studio.
