  • Producer of Academy, Emmy and Ace award-winning films, Paula has worked extensively from literary source material, taking plays and books from stage and page to screen.

    Paula is currently partnered with US bookseller Mitchell Kaplan in The Mazur/Kaplan Company, where together they bring books to screen. They most recently produced Let Him Go (2020), starring Kevin Costner, Diane Lane and Lesley Manville, written and directed by Thomas Bezucha, released by Focus in theaters worldwide Fall 2020. In February 2020, the Mazur Kaplan film All the Bright Places (2020) starring Elle Fanning and Justice Smith, directed by Brett Haley, was released on Netflix.

    Other notable Mazur Kaplan productions include The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (2018), which Mike Newell directed, starring Lily James and Michael Huisman. Guernsey was theatrically released worldwide by StudioCanal and on Netflix in the U.S. Mazur Kaplan also produced The Man Who Invented Christmas (2017) starring Dan Stevens and Christopher Plummer, directed by Bharat Nalluri, released by Bleeker Street.

    Forthcoming Mazur Kaplan projects include The Silent Wife, adapted by Billy Ray, which stars Nicole Kidman; Pretend I'm Dead with Lola Kirke starring, Major Pettigrew's Last Stand with Jack Thorne adapting; and Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter with George Tillman directing.

    Paula's previous credits include Nim's Island (2008) starring Jodie Foster, Gerard Butler and Abigail Breslin, which she produced and co-wrote, Corrina, Corrina (1994) starring Whoopi Goldberg, and the Academy Award winning The Appointments of Dennis Jennings (1988). Her plays to screen include The Vagina Monologues (2002), The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe (1991), and Laurie Anderson's concert film Home of the Brave: A Film by Laurie Anderson (1986)
