- Glauco Mauri was born on October 1, 1930 in Pesaro, Marche, Italy. He was an actor and writer, known for Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977), Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Deep Red (1975). He died on September 28, 2024 in Rome, Lazio, Italy.

- After having been part of the cast of the television drama Buddenbrooks in 1971, at the 1972 Venice Biennale Luca Ronconi directed him in the historic production of Aeschylus' Oresteia in which Mauri was the protagonist.
- His participation in Rai television works was important , both in comedies and in classical tragedies and in dramas, with over sixty works since the beginning of broadcasts in 1954; also in Rai radio drama he was frequently present in front of the microphones, both in the Radio Roma company and in the Milan one.
- Mauri was a Grand Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic and was awarded honorary citizenship of the municipality of Pesaro on 12 January 2009.
- For some years, he worked with the Proclemer-Albertazzi Company.
