Whit Masterson was born on June 8, 1920 in San Diego, California, USA. He was a writer, known for Touch of Evil (1958), Warning Shot (1966) and The Yellow Canary (1963). He was married to Florence Jeanne Zomparelli and Gloria Eileen Winke. He died on September 30, 2012 in San Carlos, California, USA.

From 1946 to 1961, Whit Masterson and H. William Miller co-authored crime novels with under the pseudonyms Whit Masterson, Wade Miller, Dale Wilmer, and Will Daemer. Following Bill Miller's death in 1961, Bob Wade continued to publish books solo under these pseudonyms.
