- Tom Maschler was born on August 16, 1933 in Berlin, Germany. He was an actor and producer, known for The French Lieutenant's Woman (1981), Bookmark (1983) and Barneys, Books and Bust Ups: 50 Years of the Booker Prize (2018). He was married to Regina Kulinicz and Fay Maschler. He died on October 15, 2020 in Apt, Vaucluse, France.

- Publisher who invented the Booker Prize in 1968. He is the son of the publisher Kurt Maschler who established the The Kurt Maschler Awards for Childrens Books in 1982.
