- He was the first person to play Pete from Pete's Dragon (1977) in "The Disneyland Main Street Electrical Parade".
- In 1983, he received a congressional appointment to the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York.
- Did not appear in another theatrical motion picture after Pete's Dragon (1977), although his voice was used for the animated film "The Small One".
