While performing in "The World of Suzie Wong" on Broadway, she met actor Karl Held. They were later married in 1964.

Daughter of actors Herbert Marshall and Edna Best.

Was nominated for Broadway's 1960 Tony Award as Best Supporting or Featured Actress (Dramatic) for "Goodbye, Charlie."

Sarah's marriage to her Broadway co-star Conrad Janis was announced for April 1958 but did not take place.

In 1972, Sarah moved to London, where she appeared in A.R. Gurney's "Children" with Constance Cummings, "Applause" with Lauren Bacall and Neil Simon's "The Gingerbread Lady" with Elaine Stritch.

Appeared in December 1961 episode of Perry Mason (1957) entitled "The Case of the Roving River" that also featured her future husband, Karl Held, who was a semi-regular role on the show as law student/legal intern David Gideon.
