Biography

Darryl Marshak began his agency career in 1975 at The Robert Littman Co. where he assisted in representation of mostly actors, writers and directors including: Oliver Reed (Gladiator), Gene Wilder (Blazing Saddles), Teri Garr (Young Frankenstein), James Mason, Lee J. Cobb, Alice Cooper, Sara Miles, Ken Russell, Nic Roeg, Candy Clark, David Bowie, David Puttnam, and Alice Cooper. He also had a hand in packaging pics like "The Deer Hunter," "Altered States," "The Man Who Fell to Earth" and "The Woman in Red."

Later at 20th Century Artists, Marshak represented and molded the careers of Ray Liotta (Goodfellas), Richard Farnsworth (The Silver Fox), Phil Hartman (Saturday Night Live), and Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters).

Forming Littman-Marshak-Wyckoff Associates, Marshak represented talent including Robert Patrick (Terminator), Lisa Kudrow (Friends) and Seymour Casell (Dick Tracy).

Marshak then formed Gold Marshak Liedtke Associates (GML) where with partners Bonnie Liedtke and Harry Gold, representing stars like two time Oscar winner Hilary Swank, Leonardo DiCaprio, James Franco, Farrah Fawcett, Pam Grier, Roger Daltrey of the Who, William Shatner, Scott Baio, Leah Remini (King of Queens), Ben, Foster, and many others.

Marshak segued into talent management & production called The Marshak/Zachary Company, representing Robin Givens, Andrew Divoff , Michael Lerner, Alex Rocco, Curtis Armstrong, Eric Martsolf (Emmy winner & 15' nominee), Carlos Ponce (Cristela) Luke Youngblood, Nicole Gale Anderson (Beauty & The Beast) , Daniel J. Travanti (Hill Street Blues), Dana Davis (Heroes), Sonya Eddy (General Hospital), Meredith Baxter and Donna Mills among others. After the departure of Zachary, Marshak asked Alan Mills, who worked with Marshak for 20 years, to be his fifty-percent partner. The new name of the company is Marshak and Mills.

Darryl Marshak also executive produced "Tiptoes" starring Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey, Peter Dinklage (from Game Of Thrones), Kate Beckinsale, Gary Oldman and Patricia Arquette. In addition, Darryl Marshak produced "Any Day" starring Sean Bean, Eva Longoria, Kate Walsh & Tom Arnold. Release date in May 1st, 2015. Partner/owner in many agencies/management companies including November 9th, Marshak Wyckoff Associates, Gold Marshak Liedtke Associates and The Marshak/Zachary Co. Member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

Began career as talent representative in the late 70s, working for Robert Littman. He was literally a teen agent. With his partners, he discovered and launched actors including Leonardo DiCaprio, Lisa Kudrow, James Franco, Ray Liotta, Robert Patrick, Hilary Swank, Ron Livingston amongst others.

While a student filmmaker at Fairfax High School, he began Starving Students Moving Company with his friend Ethan Margalith. His film "Adzam" represented the United States at the 10th Annual MUSE Festival Award in Amsterdam, won the LA Film Teachers Association Award in 1973 and received honorable mention in the KCET Film Festival.

Son of Phillip Marshak.
