Biography

Hannelore Marschall was born on March 3, 1931 in Osnabrück, Germany. She was an actress, known for Kinderbücher für Erwachsene (1954), Die Muminfamilie (1959) and A Rat's Tale (1997). She was married to Hanns-Joachim Marschall. She died on May 16, 2003 in Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany.

Daughter of Rose Oehmichen and Walter Oehmichen, mother of Klaus Marschall and Jürgen Marschall.

In 55 years she has carved almost 6000 puppets out of a block of limewood. She's the one who gave all the popular figures of the Augsburger Puppenkiste like Jim Knopf, Mikesch, Urmel and many others their faces.
