Biography

Rosalind Marquis was born on September 11, 1915 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. She was an actress, known for Gold Diggers of 1937 (1936), Talent Scout (1937) and Marked Woman (1937). She was married to William L Waller, Thomas E. Saxe Jr and Edwin Diamond Axton II. She died on June 12, 2006 in Naples, Florida, USA.

She met Ed Axton while touring with Edith Piaf at the "Blue Grass Room" in Kentucky - they later were married and had three children - two boys and a girl.

Came to Hollywood after winning a contest playing concert piano.

Diminutive, blue-eyed singer and actress, the daughter of an usher and one one of eight siblings. Came to notice after winning a beauty contest at the Chicago World Fair and subsequently had a brief career in Hollywood musicals and comedies. When that petered out, she returned to the nightclub/hotel circuit as a vocalist and left showbiz in the 40's to become a Kentucky socialite.
