- Robert Marasco was born on September 2, 1936 in Bronx, New York, USA. He was a writer, known for Burnt Offerings (1976), Child's Play (1972) and General Hospital (1963). He died on December 6, 1998 in Manhasset, New York, USA.
- Was nominated for Broadway's 1970 Best Play Tony Award as author of "Child's Play."
- He stated in an interview that "Child's Play" was partly inspired by Ingmar Bergman's film "Torment", which featured a sadistic Latin teacher.
- Graduated from Fordham University. Before becoming a playwright, he taught Latin, Greek and English at his old school, Regis High, in Manhattan.
- His play, "Child's Play", was produced in London in 1971 with Laurence Harvey and Rupert Davies in the leading roles. It did not, however, echo its Broadway success.
