As Kristen explained on The Howard Stern Show, Jules was adopted by Norma (Gordezky) and Benny Urman, a California Jewish couple, in 1953. A DNA test indicated that one of Kristen's biological maternal grandparents was Jewish. At the time of Jules' birth in the 1950s, most babies adopted by Jewish couples were born to Jewish mothers.
