  • Roshanlal Malhotra, also known as R. L. Malhotra, was an Indian film producer and director active during the 1950s and 1960s. He made his directorial and production debut with the film Kaale Badal (1951), and went on to direct and produce notable films such as Dhuaan (1953), Fifty Fifty (1956), and Mera Dost (1969). He is credited with launching the career of his younger brother, M. Rajan, by giving him his first break in Dhuaan, a move that helped establish Rajan as a successful leading man in Hindi cinema. In addition to his contributions as a filmmaker, Malhotra also played a significant role in the Indian film industry's organizational leadership. He served as the President of the Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association (IMPPA) during multiple terms, specifically in 1963, 1965, 1966, and 1967.He remained the president of the Film Federation of India from 1967 to 1968.
