Biography

Yekaterina Maksimova was born on February 1, 1939 in Moscow, USSR [now Russia]. She was an actress, known for Galateya (1977), The Nutcracker (1987) and The Nutcracker (1977). She was married to Vladimir Vasiliev. She died on April 28, 2009 in Moscow, Russia.

She made her debut in 1958 as "Masha" in "The Nutcracker". During her career, she danced most of the major female roles in classical ballet.

She had such a youthful appearance that she could still play roles such as Maria (i.e. Clara) in "The Nutcracker" while in her 40's and '50's.

Teaches at Moscow's GITIS Institute.
