Stelios Mainas

Stelios Mainas is a Greek actor and writer known for his long presence in theater, television, and cinema. Raised in Athens, he initially studied business administration and hotel management before graduating from the Veaki Drama School in 1984 and pursuing acting professionally. Over the years he worked with many major central and regional theaters throughout Greece, becoming widely known through the television series Oi men kai oi den (1993) and the film Valkanizater (1997). He later appeared in numerous notable film and television productions and in 2015 received the Best Actor award from the Hellenic Film Academy for his performance in Tetarti 04:45 (2015). Alongside acting, Mainas has also worked as a writer. In 2010 he published the collection "Ta fainomena apatoun", featuring short stories and texts, some of which had previously appeared in magazines, while in 2022 he released his first novel, "Na thymitho na parangeilo", dealing with the subject of euthanasia.
