Biography

Originally Thomas was a producer and sales agent for companies such as Trust Film Sales, Katapult Film Sales & Trust Nordisk. Recently Thomas has seen the film industry's need for a change particularly in its distribution paradigm. Thus he has been touring the world for the last 5 years, speaking at over 100 different events, about the new tools available for filmmakers through crowdfunding, social media marketing and alternative models of distribution.

After settling down in Australia, together with Josh Pomeranz of Spectrum Films Thomas established FanDependent, an innovative distribution company that helps filmmakers connect with their audience. FanDependent received the Innovative Distribution grant from Screen Australia to help 10 Australian filmmakers implement these new tools over a 2 year period.

Thomas has been a consultant on films such as The Tunnel, Iron Sky, Gayby Baby, Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, The Last Impresario, and Rites of Passage, and is working on a number of other film projects.

Thomas also spearheaded the development of Releasr, an innovative online tool for filmmakers to discover, organise and build their audience database.
