Biography

David MacMichael was born on June 6, 1926 in Albany, New York, USA. He is known for Uncovered: The Whole Truth About the Iraq War (2004), Cover Up: Behind the Iran Contra Affair (1988) and Zündstoff (1992). He was married to Barbara Jentsch and Martha Ostrander. He died on May 16, 2022 in Linden, Virginia, USA.

He served in the Marine Corps and earned a bachelor's degree in history at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia. Returning to the Corps as an officer, he was sent to Korea and severely wounded in an artillery attack. He later resigned his commission, received a doctorate in history from the University of Oregon, and taught at Dominican College of San Rafael (now the Dominican University of California).
