Justin is the Head of Film and John Sherlock Assistant Professor of Screenwriting at Trinity College Dublin.

He is a writer and director of film, television and theatre. His first feature film, "The Vigil" (aka "The Vigil (for Kurt Cobain") in the USA) played at film festivals from Vancouver to Mumbai. It was released on DVD by Vanguard International and played on television around the world after a short theatrical run in Canada. His latest documentary, "Is There Anybody Out There? Young voices from inside a pandemic" had its premiere at the Virgin Media Dublin International Film Festival in 2021.

His theatre work includes the anti-war trilogy "The Play That Killed Me," "God Wept and the Devil Laughed," and "The Lonely Clouds of Guernica" which were part of the Lowry Studio's award-winning NeverBeenSeen strand of new work. "God Wept and the Devil Laughed" also won Best Studio Performance at the prestigious Manchester Theatre Awards. This trilogy was followed by the Manchester Theatre Award nominated "Mugabeland!" and "How I Helped End Communism (and Save Democracy for Vladimir Putin and George W. Bush)," both of which also had their premieres at the Lowry. All five plays were supported by awards from Arts Council England and through the support of the Peggy Ramsey Foundation.

His last two plays - "Uhta! The last part of the night" and "The Tears That Fall Not" had their premieres at Smock Alley Theatre in Dublin with support from Arts Council Ireland and the AHSS Benefaction Fund.

He spent late 2019 as the Writer in Residence for Prague UNESCO City of Literature where he worked on a little known story about Vaclav Havel for stage and screen.
