Biography

Bernarr Macfadden was born on August 16, 1868 in Mill Springs, Missouri, USA. He was a producer and director, known for Zongar (1918), The Men Women Love (1926) and The Virgin Wife (1926). He was married to Mary Williamson. He died on October 12, 1955 in Jersey City, New Jersey, USA.

Self-styled physical culture expert and occasional film producer of the early 20th Century.

As a pioneer in physical culture & fitness and as publisher of books & periodicals which promoted healthful diet and the fitness life style, Mr. Macfadden was posthumously inducted into the National Fitness Hall of Fame, in the initial & founding Class of 2005.
