Santiago López has a Bachelor's Degree in Communication's Science from the "Universidad Católica del Uruguay". He algo achieved a Master's Degree in Design and Management of Audiovisual Production at the "Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona" in Spain, 2016.
Since 2014, he has worked directly for companies such as HBO, Netflix, Fox and Discovery Channel. He was also awarded for the production and co-production of films that have had a very distinguished performance in the international market (Freedom is a Big Word, Louminous section IDFA, The moneychanger, Tiff Platform 2019). In 2018, he created Cimarrón Cine, a production company in association with Hernán Musaluppi (former Rizoma, Argentina, one of the most prolific and award-winning production companies in Latin America) and Diego Robino (Oriental films). In this company, he develops and produces original projects and also provides production services. Some remarkable series produced along the last year are; Amsterdam (HBO), Sentença (Amazon Prime Video), Impuros (Star +) and IOSI (Amazon Prime Video). In 2022, he is a member of the Association of Producers of Uruguay (ASOPROD) as Secretary General.
