Eugene P. Lyle Jr. was born on December 31, 1873 in Dallas, Texas, USA. He was a writer, known for The Americano (1916), American Pluck (1925) and Try and Get It (1924). He was married to Gwladys Morgan and Ethel McGill. He died on February 5, 1962 in San Diego, California, USA.

American novelist and investigative journalist.

His second wife, Gwladys Morgan (1888-1974), was an American physician who also wrote stories and poems about Wales for young adults.

Lived in Mexico for several years where his father worked as a mining engineer.

Best remembered for "Don Swashbuckler" (1898), "The Missourian" (1905), "Lone Star" (1907), "The Transformation of Krag" (1911); and "Castaways' Island" (1925).
