Matthew Richard Lucas is a British-German actor, comedian, writer, and television presenter. He is perhaps best known for his work with David Walliams on the BBC sketch comedy series Little Britain (2003-2006, 2020) and Come Fly With Me (2010-2011). Lucas portrayed the role of Nardole in the BBC series Doctor Who (2015-2017). He has also appeared in films, including Alice in Wonderland (2010), Bridesmaids (2011), Small Apartments (2012), and Paddington (2014). Since 2020, Lucas has presented The Great British Bake Off, alongside Noel Fielding.

Started to lose his hair when he was 6 years old. He suffers from Alopecia universalis which causes rapid loss of all hair, including eyebrows and eyelashes.
As of 2012, Matt shares a West Hollywood home with his Bridesmaids (2011) co-star Rebel Wilson.
In November 2021, he became a naturalized German citizen. He has German ancestry through his grandmother, who fled Germany in 1938.
His favorite band is Queen.
He is from a Jewish family (from Russia, Poland, Ukraine, and Germany).

I loved all the camp comics of my childhood, Kenneth Williams and Frankie Howerd and John Inman, but school gave me a very bad feeling about being gay and then, when I was about 12 - bang, along came AIDS. I can't think of a single positive thing about being gay at that time.
I met Boy George in a club and he asked me if I'd play Leigh Bowery, presumably because I'm bald and fat. I'd make my entrance to a lovely song called 'Don't Knock It 'Til You've Tried It', which is about cottaging, a big part of Leigh's life. He wasn't fussed what you looked like, and I really think that's something to celebrate.
With contestants generally ranging from 16 to the mid 20s, the beauty contest was enormously popular entertainment and one of the few talent show formats we've not tried to bring back... yet.
In the Sixties we could smoke to our lungs' discontent more or less anywhere we liked.
In the Seventies, the pocket calculator was an object of desire. As was Valerie Singleton, though she was slightly harder to write the word boobs on.
