  • Simon Fraser 15th Lord Lovat was born on July 9, 1911 in Inverness, Scotland, UK. He is known for The Longest Day (1962), V.I.P.-Schaukel (1971) and This Is Your Life (1955). He was married to Rosamond Broughton. He died on March 16, 1995 in Beauly, Scotland, UK.

  • Commander of the 1st Special Service Brigade of the British Army which stormed Sword Beach on D-Day. To rally the troops, he asked Bill Millin to play the bagpipes as they went ashore. Millin played the bagpipes at Fraser's funeral.
  • Although commonly known as the 17th Lord Lovat, in fact, he became the 15th Lord Lovat upon the death of his father in 1932, and the 25th Chief of the Clan Fraser.
  • Played by Peter Lawford in The Longest Day (1962).

William Hogarth depicted Lovat in an engraving before Lovat's execution. The peerage Lord Lovat was restored to Thomas Fraser, Fraser's great-grandfather, in 1854. Lovat is a character in Outlander (2014), played by Clive Russell.
