Biography

Was originally only contracted for six episodes of Full House (1987) but after positive audience reaction, she was given a full-time role. The initial storyline for her was to be just Danny's co-host and go on one date with him, realizing they would never work out in a dating relationship and have their relationship remain just professional. However, when she became a full-time character, they created a storyline where she would fall in love with Jesse and eventually marry him.

Husband Mossimo Giannulli's the creator of the Mossimo clothing line.

Like others on the show, remains close with her Full House (1987) castmates, appearing in cameo roles in Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen's movies.

Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli were indicted by the FBI and U.S. Attorney for fraud and bribery offenses on March 12, 2019, in a nationwide college bribery scandal. On May 22, 2020, Loughlin pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud, and her husband pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud, and honest services wire and mail fraud. Loughlin was sentenced to two months in prison, while her husband was sentenced to five months. She served her two-month prison sentence at FCI Dublin in northern California from October 30, 2020 to December 28, 2020. In addition, she was fined $150,000 and ordered to complete 100 hours of community service upon her release. Giannulli was sentenced to five months in prison, fined $250,000, and ordered to complete 250 hours of community service. Additional fall-out occurred when Loughlin and Giannulli were named as defendants in a private class-action lawsuit brought by Stanford University graduates, who alleged their education and degrees had been devalued due to their school's association with the case.

Had lead role as Emmeline in The Blue Lagoon (1980), but turned it down. The lead went to Brooke Shields.
