Biography

After a career as a professional dancer with Ballet Hispanico of New York and later with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Donald began acting on stage with the prestigious Spanish Repertory Theater in New York City. He later transitioned into commercials, independent films and TV. After partnering with René Veilleux and co-founding Verité Films, Donald began directing and then producing a number of projects, including the feature film The Putt Putt Syndrome. As a writer, Donald has adapted a number of Japanese anime series, such as, Zoids Genesis, Honey and Clover, Buso Renkin, and Monster, as well as, the Korean animated series Cobots and the Russian feature film The Snow Queen. Donald adapted a Peruvian animated project based on an environmental initiative recognized by UNESCO titled Ania's Magical Garden for Peru. As the Head of Creative and Development of Verité Films, LLC, Donald is spearheading development on a number of animated project, a variety of scripted and unscripted TV series, as well as, a slate of feature films.

Donald Roman Lopez is the Co-Founder and President of Verité Entertainment, and as Head of Creative focuses on the development of the company's diverse slate in film, television, animation and new media. Also, an on-camera and voice actor, Donald began his career in animation by writing English adaptations for anime, foreign features, animated series, and later expanded to casting and producing voiceover for animation and video games. With more than 15 years of experience in the entertainment industry, Donald shares his expertise with burgeoning creatives as well by speaking on panels and at workshops.

Donald is packaging and producing three feature films, including his directorial debut, a live-action thriller titled Let Me Breathe, the stop motion animated action film, Jack Worm (with Animaking in Brazil), and an untitled animated feature starring Mel Brooks, Jacob Trembley, Dakota Fanning, Mads Mikkelsen, Kenan Thompson, Carol Kane and Christopher Lloyd.
