Lokesh(1947-2004)

Lokesh emerged as a powerhouse Kannada actor and theatre stalwart, son of pioneering stage performer Subbaiah Naidu, delivering unforgettable performances in over 100 films across nearly five decades while earning three Karnataka State Film Awards for Best Actor. He stepped into cinema as a child artist in the 1958 classic Bhakta Prahlada, later captivating audiences with his debut lead in Bhagya Jyothi and breakthrough roles in masterpieces like Bhootayyana Maga Ayyu, Kaadu, and Kakana Kote that showcased his raw intensity and emotional range.His career peaked with award-winning portrayals in Parasangada Gendethimma and Banker Margayya, alongside directing the acclaimed Bhujangayyana Dashavathara, blending artistry with commercial hits such as Ellindalo Bandavaru, Devara Kannu, Muyyi, Sankranti, Ranadheera, and Premaloka. Lokesh's naturalistic style and versatility made him a favorite of directors like Girish Karnad, Puttanna Kanagal, and T.S.
