Biography

Russell Lloyd was born on January 16, 1916 in Swansea, West Glamorgan, Wales, UK. He was an editor and assistant director, known for The Man Who Would Be King (1975), Moby Dick (1956) and The Last Run (1971). He was married to Valerie Cox and Rosamund John. He died on January 21, 2008 in Cranleigh, Surrey, England, UK.

British editor, noted for his collaboration with director John Huston on eleven films. He began his career as a projectionist in Swansea, then joined the Korda Organisation as a "numbering boy", synchronising film rushes for the chief editor Harold Young.

The director of one film I know about shot almost a million feet of negative and printed nearly everything. A two-hour film is 10,800 feet long, so you can appreciate the wastage.
