Biography

Mother is a Lutheran minister, father is an aerospace engineer. Younger brother of Golden Globe-nominated actor Ron Livingston. Music director for the Stanford Mendicants in 1992, an a Capella troupe of undergraduates. Graduated Stanford in 1993 with a degree in psychology. Resides in Los Angeles.

Recent breakthrough performance as "Matt 'Bunz' Bernstein" in The Sterling Chase (1999). Previously played essentially the same character twice, a young TV production assistant to Ellen DeGeneres: as "Walter" in Mr. Wrong (1996) & as "Terry" in Edtv (1999).

Look fast for him as one of the panicked computer technicians right at the very end of The Net (1995) (face not visible, back to camera).

Brother of actor Ron Livingston, Jennifer Livingston and Nick Livingston.

John went to High School in Marion, Iowa. He went on to college at Stanford, in California. His first acting job was as an urchin in the Cedar Rapids Community Theater production of "Scrooge".
