- Piero Livi was born on April 1, 1925 in Olbia, Italy. He was a director and writer, known for Pelle di bandito (1969), Maria si (2004) and Sos Laribiancos - I dimenticati (2000). He died on September 2, 2015 in Rome, Italy.
- Livi was among the founders of a film society in his hometown Olbia, and was organizer and artistic director of eighteen editions of the International Festival of Olbia, from 1957 to 1974.
- Only in recent years has his figure been re-evaluated and placed in the right light. In 2008 , the LA7 broadcaster dedicated a night time slot to him in the programme hosted by Paola Maugeri .
- He was also a director of dubbing.
- After almost twenty-five years of inactivity, in 1999 , Livi shot "Sos laribiancos - I dimenticati", based on Francesco Masala 's novel "Quelli dalle labbra bianche" (honorable mention at the Palm Springs International Film Festival ), with Lucio Salis, Sandro Ghiani and Alessandro Partexano.
- Livi started his career in 1957, with the short film "Marco dal mare".
