  • Helena Mary Little was born in Hazel Grove, Cheshire, England. When she was three years old, her family moved to Kenya, then returned to England when she was ten years old. From early youth, she had aspired to be an actress. She graduated from the Old Palace school in Mayfield, East Sussex, England, and then studied acting for three years at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She earned a Gold Medal on graduating in 1981. Since beginning her acting career in Southampton, Little has appeared on stage, in film, and on television. She has had a variety of mostly supporting roles, with some leading parts. She has also directed productions on stage and contributes to and supports Chickenshed theatre for families and people, young and old, of all abilities. She is active with the So and So Arts Club in London, which was founded by her drama school colleague Sarah Berger. Little enjoys sailing and other outdoor sports, but is very private about her family and personal life. Little is mostly recognized for her appearances over the years in several TV series, and a few films made for TV. Her most prominent role was early in her career.
