Biography

  • Moira Lister was born in South Africa and made her stage debut at age 6 with the University Players of Johannesburg in "The Vikings of Helgeland." She appeared on the London stage at age 14 and started working in films in 1943. She was always popular, and she was usually cast as 'posh' ladies.

  • In the 1940s she was a friend of sadistic murderer Neville Heath, although she didn't know his real name. He invited her out to dinner a week after he brutally murdered another woman. He walked her home and kissed her goodnight. Weeks later, he murdered another woman. He was eventually caught and hanged in England in 1946. Lister believed that her blonde hair saved her life as both of Heath's victims were dark-haired.
  • In The Avengers (1961), she is beaten by Diana Rigg in the final fight.
