Biography

Eduard Linkers was born on October 11, 1912 in Czernowitz, Bukovina, Austria-Hungary [now Chernivtsi, Ukraine]. He was an actor, known for Deep End (1970), Krakatit (1948) and Confidential Report (1955). He died on April 3, 2004 in Wartenberg, Bavaria, Germany.

With the rise of the National Socialists in Austria his career came to an abrupt end because his father was a Jew. In those years he kept his head above water as a language teacher in Prague.

Besides his extensive engagements for cinema and TV he was also very busy on stages all the time and impersonated numerous roles.

Many other engagements in the 60's and 70's in front of the camera and international appearances increased as well.

He was able to continue his film and theater career after the war, first in Czechoslovakia with the movies "Nadlide" (1946), "Krakatit" (1947) and "Kariera" (1948), from the 50's also in German-speaking movies.

The actor Eduard Linkers learned his acting abilities at the Viennese Volkstheater and afterwards appeared at different Austrian stages.
