  • James William Lindberg was born July 26th, 1965 in Hermosa Beach, California. He started the California punk band Pennywise in 1988 along with band mates Fletcher Dragge on guitar, Jason Thirsk (died in 1996) who plays bass and Byron McMackin who plays drums. His band mates were at Mira Costa High School, where he attended. So far, Pennywise have released 9 albums (not counting the 1989 compilation of EPs album "Word From The Wise/Wildcard" and the 2000 live album "Live @ The Key Club"). In 1996, after the terrible death of former bassist Jason Thirsk, the band continued playing with the current bass player Randy Bradbury joining in time to record the 1997 album "Full Cirle" which as a reprise of "Bro Hymn (Tribute)", dedicated to the former bass player. They continued playing since. In August 2009, Jim left Pennywise for personal reasons and subsequently formed the band Black Pacific. He later returned to reignite Pennywise.
