Biography

Dorothy Libaire was born on November 5, 1905 in New York City, New York, USA. She was an actress, known for Baby, Take a Bow (1934), Hi, Nellie (1934) and Affairs of a Gentleman (1934). She was married to John T. Ardis and Marion Gering. She died on August 28, 1975 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA.

Attended Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. She entered as a freshman in 1921 at age 15 and newspapers reported at the time that she was the youngest freshman entering that year. She graduated in 1925.

Although no obituary is shown and no specific date of death is given, the Winter 2007-2008 issue of the Smith College Alumnae Quarterly shows that Dorothy Libaire, Class of 1925, was on the list of the members of that class as confirmed to be deceased by the alumnae records department of Smith College since the prior Fall 2007 issue of the publication.

For a short time after leaving films, she was part of a comedy duo with Russ Brown.

Was also married to Producer Ivor Mclaren.
