- Lya Ley was born on October 19, 1899 in Troppau, Silesia, Austria-Hungary. She was an actress, known for Dressur zur Ehe (1916), Das Riesenbaby (1916) and Die Nottrauung (1917). She died in 1992 in Munich, Germany.
- From 1918 followed the height of her film career, in this time came also a whole serial of Lya-Ley comedies into being.
- Because her parents had also been actors her way was traced out early.
- When she played at the Berliner Theater am Nollendorfplatz at the age of 15 she was spotted by the actor Paul Heidemann he recommended to become a film actress.
- She retired in 1921 from the film business.
- She already made her stage debut as a child in the role of "Hansel" in the play "Verschwender". In the heat of the moment she fell from the stage and landed in the properties. Despite this awkward beginning she didn't capitulate to acting.
