Gritta Ley was born on 23 August 1898 in Rixdorf [now Berlin], Germany. She was an actress, known for Der größte Gauner des Jahrhunderts (1928), Mädchen, hütet Euch! (1928) and Glühende Berge - Flammendes Herz (1930). She died on 17 December 1986 in Falmouth, Massachusetts, USA.

In 1939 she immigrated from Cuba to the United States.

Her career ended with the rise of the talkies.

As she was married to the Jewish architect Ittelson , she was not able to continue her career after 1933.

The actress Gritta Ley conquered the big screen at the end of the 20&#39;s.
