- African American character-actor in many blaxploitation films (including Across 110th Street and Cotton Goes to Harlem), he wound best known as the original King of Cartoons from the first season of Pee Wee's Playhouse. When the show moved from New York to Los Angeles, Lewis was replaced by another Blaxploitation actor, William Marshall of Blacula fame.
